Now I'm seeking constitutional power to deliver A Better Abuja. Not with promises — with legislation.
These aren't campaign promises. This is my track record.
In 21 years of activism and civic leadership, I have never accepted money to look the other way, stay silent, or compromise my principles. Not once.
While others enriched themselves from public funds, I built Citizens Hub and my businesses through hard work — not political patronage.
They've offered deals. They've made threats. They've tried everything. I'm still here. Still fighting. Still refusing to compromise.
I stood in #BringBackOurGirls when they tried to silence us. I was on the frontlines of #EndSARS when bullets were flying. I didn't run then. I won't run now.
"I didn't need political office to fight injustice. But I need it to solve systemic problems. That's why I'm running."
When 276 Chibok schoolgirls were kidnapped and the government stayed silent, I co-convened a movement that mobilized international attention and forced accountability. We didn't stop until the issue became impossible to ignore.
Pioneered Nigeria's largest peaceful anti-corruption demonstration, engaging protesters in critical thinking and sensitization on activism for civil and political rights.
Founded Citizens Hub to empower financially independent, active, and responsible citizenry through solutions-driven programs including Financial Literacy Programme (FLiP), Let's Do Business, Wealth is a Woman, and Citizens Voices.
Played a crucial role in Nigeria's largest youth-led protest movement demanding police reform and accountability. The now-iconic photo of Aisha at the protests became a symbol of the movement worldwide.
Mobilized millions of voters for reform-minded candidates committed to integrity and competence. Helped demonstrate the power of grassroots organizing over money politics.
After 21 years fighting from outside the system, I'm taking the fight inside — where laws are made and budgets are allocated. A voice outside becomes power inside.
For 21 years, I've fought for citizens from outside the system. I've seen what works and what doesn't. I've learned that activism identifies problems — but legislation solves them. The time has come to take the fight inside, where laws are made and budgets are allocated.
The FCT has no elected governor. Citizens have limited voice in governance. The Senate is where I can turn citizen demands into law, protests into policy, and advocacy into tangible results for 1 million+ Abuja residents. Constitutional authority amplifies impact — laws create lasting change.
I joined the NDC to honour my commitment to Peter Obi's vision for competent, character-driven governance. I'm not a fanatic — I think for myself and make my own decisions. But right now, Peter Obi represents the best option for the kind of governance Nigeria desperately needs.
People ask me: "Aisha, why are you running?"
Because a woman in Kwali shouldn't walk 2 kilometers for water while politicians have private boreholes.
Because your home shouldn't be bulldozed overnight while connected elites get "urban renewal."
Because you shouldn't spend 6 hours commuting to a job that barely pays rent.
Because a woman shouldn't die giving birth because she can't afford ₦50,000.
I'm running because Abuja only works for THEM. And it's time it worked for US.
